Merav Tal-maon

Merav Tal-maon is currently pursuing a PhD at the Technion in the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning. Merav’s research focuses on runoff management using water-sensitive planning by utilizing hydrological modeling and multi-objective optimization, with a recent publication focusing on the optimal placement of water-sensitive solutions.

Merav is interested in interdisciplinary approaches to complex environmental challenges. She holds an MA in Environmental Resources Management from the University of Haifa, where she authored a thesis titled “Quantifying the Interdependency, Resiliency, Reliability, and Vulnerability of Interdependent Systems,” and a BSc in Chemistry from Ben Gurion University of the Negev.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Merav is also interested in education, especially science education, and has extensive teaching experience. She is a teaching assistant at both the Technion and the University of Haifa. Her roles have involved instructing graduate-level courses in subjects such as Economics, Quantitative Methods, and Statistics. Additionally, she worked as a museum educator at MadaTech - Israel National Museum of Science and Technology, engaging audiences of all ages through guided tours and laboratory activities.
